Sidewalk sale on the Main
Thursday August 21st to Sunday August 24th 2008

La Centrale invites you to participate to the 6th edition of Boom-Chix-A-Boom!!! that will take place during the first street sale of the season on the Main. As a feminist artist-run centre, La Centrale is proud to offer, once again, an alternative to the commercial activities of the Saint-Laurent Boulevard.

Here are some ways to participate in this 6th edition:

1. Renting tables / selling stuff
As usual, we’re giving you the possibility to sneak into (infiltrate) the Saint-Laurent Street Sale at a very affordable price. Our Boom Bazaar hosts around 10 tables per day in front of the gallery. Each table is about 3’X3’ and is available for a small charge 15$/day (10$ for our members). Places are limited, so reserve your place quickly, to make sure to take full advantage of these high traffic days on the Main.

2. Interventions / actions / performances / music
Throughout the four days La Centrale will host actions or interventions in front of, or around the gallery. This is your chance to try something you’ve been thinking of, including the Greasy Goose Salon and to address a new, wide, and diversified audience in the inspiring context of the closed-off street ! Interaction with the public is strongly encouraged ! Technical support will be provided if needed. Send us your proposals!

3. Workshops
Workshops of all sorts are also welcomed. In the past, we have hosted drawing, silk-screen, plush objects and stencil-art workshops. We will provide on outdoor workspace with tables and chairs, as well as necessary basic tools (scissors, X-actos knifes, tape, ...).

Deadline!
You have until August 17th 2008 to send your proposals for interventions / performances and workshops. Reserve your tables now, because the rentals are first come, first serve.

So go crazy and propose amazing projects that will blow away all those Saint-Laurent shoppers !
