La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse is one of Quebec’s oldest artist-run centres. The gallery exhibits and serves a broad spectrum of artists and projects, which are often under-represented within established art institutions. Its mandate expands on a history of feminist art practices and aims to provide a platform for contemporary art that is informed by feminist and gender theory, as well as intercultural and trans-disciplinary practices.  We are currently looking for an Administrative Coordinator.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Financial administration and accounting
Budgeting, financial planning and report writting
Preparation of grant proposals and collaboration with funders
Communication between La Centrale and its Board of Directors
Development of strategic partnerships
Identification and implementation of fundraising strategies

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND TRAITS :

Experience in administration / coordination or financial management within a non-profit organization
Experience preparing grant applications
Experience preparing financial reports, accounting and office administration
Good knowledge of MAC platforms and Office, especially Excel
Knowledge of Simple Comptable an asset
Good knowledge of French (spoken and written) and English
Knowledge of contemporary art and artist-run centres
Knowledge and understanding of La Centrale's mandate
Personal commitment to feminisms
Excellent organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a non-hierarchical team
Flexibility and openness

 

CONDITIONS:

25 hours per week (schedule to be discussed)
Salary: to be discussed
Starting date: August 29, 2016
Possibility of training
