On the occasion of the performance Sangre caliente (Sang chaud, Hot blood) by Ileana Hernandez Camacho, La Centrale is proud to host an artist talk by Ileana Hernandez Camacho on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 6:00 PM at La Centrale Powerhouse Gallery*.
The presentation will take place at the gallery and will draw on the work of Ileana Hernandez Camacho to discuss the creation of collective moments where the body is the language.
Ileana Hernandez Camacho is a multidisciplinary artist who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University. In her artistic practice, she explores the themes of nature, femininity, and the vulnerable and fragile nature of living things. With an emphasis on the notions of feedback and collaboration, her creations highlight the importance of the reciprocal links between the living and the artificial to underline the evocative potential of each. She is a founding member of the duo ¡A MANO! Her work has been presented in Cuba, Argentina, Finland, Mexico and Canada. At her death, she wishes to feed an avocado tree with her body.
The conversation will take place in French but questions may also be asked in English and in Spanish.
