Présence I Décloisonner le regard

Maria Ezcurra

Presented as part of the 12th edition of the LatinArte Festival, this exhibition offers an incursion into the creative universe of Milton Riaño, Maria Ezcurra, Laura Barrón and Sergio Clavijo, under the direction of curator Mariza Rosales Argonza. This edition is an opportunity for LatinArte to highlight the dynamic presence of Latin American artists in Quebec, as well as the multidisciplinarity of their practices. The exhibition aims to offer a new perspective on the multiplicity of interpretations and to promote exchanges between artistic productions from the South and the North. Digital installation, monumental sculpture, photographic art and organic art; all of these mediums emphasize the notion of presence, in both physical and virtual ways. This edition highlights the urgency of creating community networks and modes of communication that promote the circulation of works, resilience and collective creativity. Echoing the concept of presence and exchange of this exhibition at the Parc-Extension's diffusion room, a work by artist Sergio Clavijo will be displayed in the lobby of the Maison de la culture Claude-Léveillée, in order to create links between these two cultural diffusion places within the borough.
