Call for members: 2026-2027 Board of Directors
La Centrale is looking for members to join our board of directors! Candidates are elected by vote at the general annual assembly and will serve on the board of directors for a one-year term (fall 2026–fall 2027). Our AGA will take place in person at la Centrale (4296 boul. Saint-Laurent) on October 10, 2026, from 1-3:30 pm.
Our mandate
La Centrale is an artist-run centre dedicated to the dissemination and development of multidisciplinary feminist practices. We are committed to supporting artists at different stages of their careers who are underrepresented in mainstream cultural institutions. With fifty years of history, La Centrale has been built on endurance and learning. The pillars of our practice lie within the (de)construction of our own systems and values, intersectional art, evolution through feminisms, and social engagement.
About the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the governing body of La Centrale. This volunteer position works in a non-hierarchical, collaborative, and feminist environment to oversee the organization and provide support to La Centrale’s co-director team. We are seeking new directors who support the centre’s mandate and values to commit to a one-year term, renewable. We are excited to welcome new members to our Board to contribute to La Centrale’s continued growth as a sustainable and relevant arts organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for the good governance of the organization and to maintain an understanding of the overall activities of La Centrale;
- Ensure the organization’s mandate is reflected in all aspects of programming and organizational activities;
- Attend quarterly Board meetings (additional meetings may be scheduled as needed);
- Provide support to the co-director team between meetings on an as needed basis;
- Attend Annual General Assembly in the Fall;
- Serve on one or more committees (HR, Finance, Fundraising, programing, communication, etc.).

To present your application for La Centrale’s Board, please manifest your interest by emailing Ari Randjbar at administration@lacentrale.org, and bring a short biography to the AGA.
2. Attend Annual General Assembly: October 10, 2026, 1-3:30 pm (in-person at La Centrale galerie Powerhouse)
Elections for the Board members take place at the AGA.All Board members are voted on by La Centrale’s membership. Applicants will each have a few minutes minutes to present themselves. Returning members of the board must also present a new application.
If you are unable to attend the AGA, please make this clear when you confirm your interest. Arrangements will be made to have a representative present your application on your behalf.
