- 28h/week, 25.16$/hour

Our mandate
La Centrale galerie Powerhouse is an artist-run centre dedicated to the dissemination and development of multidisciplinary feminist practices. We are committed to supporting artists and artistic practices that are marginalized from dominant cultural institutions, and at various stages of their careers. Our programming is in dialogue with feminisms and supports intersectionality and social justice.

What we’re looking for :
Bilingual candidate (verbal & written fluency in French and English)
Experience in supporting and creating artistic programming
Project management experience and ability to coordinate collaborative projects
Experience working in a cultural institution, non-profit or long-term artistic initiatives
Knowledge and awareness of the field of contemporary art and non-profits
Ability to manage budgets and timelines
Technical competencies regarding exhibition installation

Calendar
The following projects will require the contribution of the interim General Co-director & Programming, in collaboration with the programming committee and the co-direction team.
February 2026 : Coordinate the jury for the 2026-27 window exhibitions with the programming committee.
February–May 2026: Support and follow-up of the 2026 Prix Powerhouse
March 2026: Performance Days - Relational Tensions
April-May 2026: Gallery exhibition by artist Lucas Morneau
June 2026: Workshop by artist Jules Galbraith as part of Ada X HTMelles festival
June 2026: Support for the member festival Things We Share (4th edition)
Tasks
As the General Co-director & programming by interim, this is the list of tasks comprised in the duration of your contract. These may vary from one project to another. Please note that each member of the co-direction team contributes to a project based on the expertise of their position, and that the remaining tasks are assigned according to each person's capacity, strengths, and interests.
Programming
Manage the programming budget in collaboration with the General Co-Director & Operations
Coordinate the calls for submissions (exhibitions and performances) with the General Co-Director & Communications
Plan and coordinate the programming calendar in collaboration with the co-direction team
Work with the Laboratory committee, dedicated to the research and implementation of feminist and decolonial practices within our programming and structures or governance.
Artistic Support
Write exhibition contracts and ensure follow-ups
Ensure that the annual CARFAC fee schedule is followed
Manage the logistics of exhibition and performance projects
Coordinate and see through the transport of artworks, accommodation for artists residing outside of the city, and all other necessary logistics
Support exhibition openings and closing events
In collaboration with the General co-director & communications, coordinate volunteers for gallery sitting and exhibitions openings and closing events
Technical support
Manage artist’s technical needs
Hire and manage technicians, and support them during the installation and takedown of exhibitions and performances
Maintain the centre’s equipment inventory and its technical needs, and ensure the proper functioning of the centre’s equipment
Secure additional insurance for programming as needed
Gallery
Ensure the good condition of gallery equipment and premises
Manage gallery keys
